Brightwood College: Brightwood offers pharmacy technician classes in Houston, TX. Their program is a 36-week, interactive and hands-on course. They have both a diploma and certificate program to prepare you for the PTCB exam and for all that technician employers will look for in an employee.
Houston Community College: This pharmacy technician program is ASHP/ACPE accredited, and is based around their 45 educational goals for a complete, well-rounded education in the pharmacy technician industry. The program also includes working in the job field itself to help prepare you for what you will encounter as a pharmacy technician.
Lone Star College: Lone Star College has multiple programs and lets you be a Certified Pharmacy Technician in either nine or twelve months. Their students are fully prepared for the certification exam after the courses and enter the workforce quickly.
Northwest Educational Center: NEC’s pharmacy tech program can be taken during the daytime or in the evening. The course includes a 4-6 week externship for experience and continued training. Both daytime and graduate students are able to complete the program in under a year and be fully prepared for their certification exam.
PIMA Medical Institute: PIMA’s Houston campus has a fully accredited 10-month certificate program, complete with labs and hands-on training. Students also have the opportunity to become Sterile Product and IV certified to further their reach and experience in the healthcare field. Financial Aid is available for those in need.
Remington College: At Remington, you can take your classes in either Greenspoint or Webster. Their program includes both a Retail Mock Pharmacy and Hospital Mock Pharmacy to help prepare you for working in the job field and experiencing the work you will participate in after your certification.
San Jacinto College: San Jacinto has two campuses in Houston available for you to go to for your pharmacy technician courses. It is a one-year program. It uses a variety of teaching methods, including honing in on both written and oral communication as well as teaching the necessary mathematical functions and the laws/ethics of pharmacy.
Texas Southern University: TSU’s pharmacy technician certification program is 50 hours and includes the range of activities and calculations that CPT’s will do in their career. All textbooks are included in the tuition, and the course ends with a comprehensive final exam for students to use as preparation for their certification exam.
